How can people feel safe moving through the city when urban insecurity becomes part of everyday life?
Wava was born from the lack of safety experienced during urban commutes, especially at certain hours in Barcelona.
The app becomes an accessible prevention tool against risks such as theft, harassment or gender-based violence, supporting users throughout their journey without creating fear or information overload.
CONCEPT
Wava is designed as a discreet and supportive companion.
The interface avoids alarmist visuals, focusing instead on clarity, calm interactions and trust.
Every design decision prioritises usability, accessibility and emotional safety during movement.
INFORMATION ARCHITECTURE
The app structure was designed to minimise cognitive load during use.
Key actions are prioritised, navigation is intuitive, and information is revealed progressively to support decision-making in real time.
WIREFRAMES
Low- and mid-fidelity wireframes were developed to test user flows, safety interactions and critical scenarios.
Special attention was given to emergency actions and route visualisation.
UI DESIGN
A clean and accessible interface designed for real urban contexts and night-time use.
High contrast, clear hierarchy and calm visual language ensure readability and confidence while moving.
